This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co, and the experience editor released September 15, 2026. Not sure which you have? Sign-ups and going live are two different things. The experience being Live means check-ins count; sign-ups being open means people can join. You control the second one from the sign-ups pill in the editor header and from Registration → Joining.
The Sign-Ups Pill
Next to the status in the header, a pill reads Sign-ups open, Sign-ups open at start, Code required, or Sign-ups closed. Click it to change:
Who can join — Anyone with the link, or Only people with the code. Use the code option for a members-only kickoff or a private staff test; anyone opening the link is asked for your six-letter code.
Before it starts (only while the experience is upcoming) — Let people sign up early, or Hold sign-ups until it starts. Early sign-ups are usually the right call; you can message everyone the morning it opens.

The Join Code
Under Registration → Joining, every experience has a six-letter Join Code. People can go to play.proxi.co and enter this code instead of following a link, which is handy on a printed poster or when someone reads it out at the mic. It also gets them in when sign-ups are closed. Click the copy icon to grab it, or the refresh icon to pick a new one, then Apply. Nothing changes until you apply.
The Sign-up poster under Print carries both the QR code and the join code, so either route works.
How People Confirm It's Them
Everyone who signs up confirms a 6-digit code, texted if they added a phone, emailed otherwise. People you upload or add yourself skip this. A participant who lost their place taps I've already signed up and gets a fresh code.
Good to Know
An experience with no dates is live from the moment it's created, so if you want a quiet build period, set a Starts date.
The sign-ups setting is one of the few that acts immediately even on a live experience; it never waits for Publish.
