Features & Tabs: Choosing What Participants See

Written by Melinda Haughey

This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co, and the experience editor released September 15, 2026. Not sure which you have? Open your experience's participation link, the one participants use. If it starts with app.proxi.co, this is the right article. If it starts with map.proxi.co, yours is a legacy experience; look for the legacy article instead.

Everything a participant can see and do in your experience is one list, under Settings → Features & Tabs. Each row is a tab on their screen. Switch a row on or off, drag to reorder, and rename tabs to fit your event. There's no separate "features" screen; the switches are the tab rows.

The Rows

  • About — the description and dates. Always on.

  • Places — the places to visit and check in. Turns on the Check-ins feature.

  • Activities — things to do beyond visiting places.

  • Rewards — points to collect, badges to earn, prizes to claim. Turns on Badges & Leaderboard.

  • Photos — a feed of the photos people share.

  • My List — a personal shortlist people build as they browse. Needs Places.

  • Leaderboard — who has the most points. Needs Badges.

  • Vote — pick favorites by category, the Best Of ballot.

  • Nominate — people nominate places to add; you pick which ones make it.

  • Updates — news you post along the way.

  • Share — an invite link participants can pass along.

A small chip on some rows says Needs Badges or Part of Places: the row depends on another feature, and its switch stays off until that one is on. Rows you've switched off collect under Off.

Renaming a Tab

Click the pencil on a row. Places has three boxes, Tab name, One of them, and Several of them, because the word shows up in sentences all over the experience ("Visit 12 restaurants", "Add a restaurant"). Activities and Rewards have a Tab name. For a trivia game, try "Questions"; for a badge-only experience, try "Badges".

Opens On

Opens on sets the tab people land on. A passport usually opens on About; a Best Of opens on Vote; an event-day guide might open on Updates so people see schedule changes first.

Coming Soon

Below the list, a Coming soon section shows features we're working on: Raffle, Sponsors, Prize Redemption, Deals & Savings, Teams, and Agenda. Click I want this on any of them and tell us what you'd use it for. It helps us decide what to build next.

Good to Know

  • Turning a feature on adds a matching tab in the editor, too. The Add feature button at the end of the editor's tab row jumps straight here.

  • Templates pre-pick features: a passport starts with Check-ins, Badges & Leaderboard, and Photo Feed; a guide starts with Check-ins and Saved Places; a Best Of starts with Ratings & Voting and Badges.

  • The Updates tab only shows to participants once you've posted at least one update, and Activities once you've added at least one activity.
