This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co, and the experience editor released September 15, 2026. Not sure which you have? Open your experience's participation link, the one participants use. If it starts with app.proxi.co, this is the right article. If it starts with map.proxi.co, yours is a legacy experience; look for the legacy article instead.
Badges are what people earn as they take part: bragging rights, a real prize they pick up, or a link that unlocks. They're the reason someone drives to the far end of Main Street for one more stamp. This all lives on the Badges tab, which appears when Badges & Leaderboard is on under Settings → Features & Tabs.
Start From a Suggestion
An empty Badges tab shows Suggestions like First Check-In, Out Exploring (visit five), Visited Them All, and Point Champion. Templates rename these to fit: a restaurant week's finisher badge is the Clean Plate Club, a bar crawl's is the Full Crawl Club. Hover one and click + Add, or click + Add badge to start blank.
Setting Up a Badge
Click a badge to open it. Give it a title, a description, and an icon (click Change Icon to search icons or upload your own image). Then decide two things:
Earn when — the rule that unlocks it:
Visit N stops or Visit all stops
Earn N points or Earn all points
Spend $N on receipts — counts receipts you've approved, so people need a way to upload them (a receipt check-in or a receipt activity)
Vote N times — for a Best Of with a ballot set up
If a rule can't work yet, it's grayed out with the reason, like "Turn on Check-Ins to use this".
What they get:
A badge — bragging rights on their page
A real prize they pick up — turn on Picked up in person so your team can mark it handed over from the Participants page. Add Options like "S, M, L, XL" if there's a choice to make at pickup.
A link that unlocks (coupon, download) — paste the Reward link. It stays hidden until someone earns it, then appears on their Rewards tab.
Two extras: Bonus points adds to their score when they earn the badge (most badges leave this at 0), and Completion message is shown the moment they earn it. That's the place to say "Show this screen at the info booth for your prize."
Handing Out Prizes
When someone earns a real prize, their row on the Participants & Activity → People page shows the reward with a Mark picked up button (and a size picker if you added options). Click it when they collect. There's an Undo if you tap the wrong person. The Activity view keeps a running count of prizes earned versus handed over.
The Leaderboard
The leaderboard switch isn't on this tab. It's a row under Settings → Features & Tabs called Leaderboard. Turn it on and participants get a Leaderboard tab, and you get a Leaderboard tab in the editor with an embed you can put on your own website. Testers stay off the board automatically, and you can hide anyone from it from their details.
Good to Know
Points come from places (set per place on your places tab), activities, and badge bonuses.
The participant tab is called Rewards by default. For a badge-only experience, rename it to "Badges" under Features & Tabs.
Raffle entries and prize fulfillment are on our list. Until they arrive, a "drawing entry" is a badge with a completion message explaining how the drawing works.
