This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co, and the experience editor released September 15, 2026. Not sure which you have? Open your experience's participation link, the one participants use. If it starts with app.proxi.co, this is the right article. If it starts with map.proxi.co, yours is a legacy experience; look for the legacy article instead.
An experience is the thing your community takes part in on their phone: a passport they stamp as they visit shops, a scavenger hunt they solve clue by clue, a guide of places they save, or a Best Of vote where they pick their favorites. In Proxi these are all one kind of thing, built in one editor, with features you switch on or off to fit what you're running.
Say you're planning a holiday shopping passport. You'd start from the Holiday Shopping Passport template, connect the shops taking part, turn on check-ins and badges, and share one link. Later, if you want people to vote on the best window display, you'd build a second experience from the Decorating Contest template. Same editor, different features.
The Four Core Starting Points
Every experience starts from one of these. They set sensible defaults, and you can change any of it afterward.
Passport — people see every place from the start and check in as they visit, collecting points and badges along the way. Templates include Restaurant Week, Small Business Saturday, Bar Crawl, Food Trail, and Art Walk.
Scavenger Hunt — places stay hidden until someone solves the clue and checks in. Templates include Downtown Scavenger Hunt, Holiday Window Hunt, History Mystery, Mural Hunt, and Family Adventure Hunt.
Guide — a list people keep: places to save and come back to, with updates from you. Templates include Visitor Guide, Walking Tour, Event Day Guide, Savings Pass, and New Resident Guide.
Best Of — a ballot. People vote for their favorites by category, and you can let them nominate places first. Templates include Best of Downtown, Cook-Off Vote, Decorating Contest, and People's Choice.
In the sidebar, you'll always see Passports, Guides, Scavenger Hunts, and Best Of. An all-in-one Experiences entry appears only when you have something that doesn't fit one of those four.
Features You Can Switch On
Under Settings → Features & Tabs you'll find everything participants can see and do, as one list. The features you can turn on today are Check-ins, Badges & Leaderboard, Activities, Photo Feed, Ratings & Voting, Announcements, and Saved Places. Each one adds a tab to the participant's screen, and you can rename or reorder those tabs. (See Features & Tabs: Choosing What Participants See.)
Where Everything Lives
Open an experience and you'll see three areas across the top: Setup (the editor), Messages (email and text to participants), and Participants & Activity (who joined, what they did, and a live view for the day itself). The editor has a Settings tab and a Registration tab, then one tab per feature you've turned on.
Templates and Starting From Scratch
When you open Passports, Guides, Scavenger Hunts, or Best Of, a Start from a template strip sits at the top. Pick the one closest to what you have in mind: it fills in the name, the welcome, the sign-up wording, starter badges, and suggested activities. Prefer a blank slate? Choose Start from scratch. If You Built Experiences Before September 15, 2026
Those are legacy experiences. They keep running exactly as they do today, without interruption, and there is nothing you need to migrate. They show a Legacy badge on your Experiences page. The quickest way to tell which kind you're looking at is the participation link: a legacy experience's link starts with map.proxi.co, and a new one's starts with app.proxi.co/c/. A workspace that already has legacy experiences also keeps a Build Legacy Experience button, so you can still make more of those if you'd rather.
