This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co, and the experience editor released September 15, 2026. Not sure which you have? Open your experience's participation link, the one participants use. If it starts with app.proxi.co, this is the right article. If it starts with map.proxi.co, yours is a legacy experience; look for the legacy article instead.
Creating an experience takes about a minute: pick a template, give it a name, tell us where the places come from, and you're in the editor. Here's the walk-through, using a made-up "Riverbend Restaurant Week" as the example.
1. Start From the Right Page
In the sidebar, open Passports (or Guides, Scavenger Hunts, or Best Of, depending on what you're building). Then either:
pick a template from the Start from a template strip at the top of the page, or
click New Passport (the button name matches the page you're on) and pick a template on the next screen.
For our example, we'd choose the Restaurant Week template. If nothing fits, the dashed Start from scratch card gives you just the basics.
2. Answer the Template's Question (Sometimes)
A few templates ask one quick question so they can fill in the right word everywhere. Cook-Off Vote asks "What are they cooking?", Find the Hidden Object! asks "What are people looking for?", Food Trail asks "What kind of trail?". Type "Taco" and you'll get a Taco Trail in the name, the welcome, and the sign-up page. You can change any of it later.
3. Name It
The Name box is pre-filled from the template with your workspace name, like "Riverbend Restaurant Week". Keep it or type your own.
4. Say Where the Places Come From
Under Where should the places people visit come from? (for a Best Of, "the places people vote on"), pick one:
Start a new collection — we set up a collection named after this experience, and you add the places next.
Pick from your listings — check off the businesses taking part. Each place stays in sync with its listing, so a restaurant that updates its hours in the portal is current here too. This option appears once you have listings.
Use a collection you already have — start with places that are already in Proxi, like the collection behind your dining map.
Experiences pull their places from a collection, and the same collection can power your map and directory too. Only the Savings Pass template adds something extra here: a Special Offer field, so every place can show its deal.
5. Create & Edit
Click Create & edit. The editor opens with a short checklist at the top called Let's get this ready to share. Tap any step to jump there:
Add your places (or Set up the ballot for a Best Of)
Set up sign-up — what you ask when people join
Make it yours — logo, colors, and a cover photo
Preview & share — see it the way a participant will

Good to Know
Nothing is public until people have the link, and an experience with a future Starts date holds sign-ups until then unless you say otherwise. (See Going Live, Pausing, and Publishing Changes.)
Templates set the words and defaults, never your dates or branding: those start from your workspace and you fill them in.
On a free plan there's a cap on participants and places per experience so you can try it out. The banner on the Experiences page shows the exact numbers.
