A directory is built from a Collection you already have, so making one takes about a minute — then you style it however you like.
Before You Start
You'll need a Collection with some places in it — that's what fills your directory. If you don't have one yet, create a collection first (see Listings vs. Collections: What's the Difference?).
Create It
Go to Directories in the sidebar and click New Directory (or Create your first directory if it's your first).
In the Create Directory window, give it a Name — like "Downtown Business Directory."
Pick the Collection it shows. This is the set of places your directory browses; each collection in the list shows how many places it has.
Click Create.
That's all it takes — name and one collection. You land straight in the editor, where you set up the look, the filters, the map, and everything else.
Good to Know
Everything autosaves. There's no Save button — as you make changes, you'll see "Saving…" then "Saved" at the top.
The preview is live. The right side of the editor is your real directory, so every change shows instantly.
A new directory starts as a Draft — it's private until you publish it. See Publishing, Sharing & Embedding Your Directory for that step.
