A template is a head start, not a commitment. Pick one and your new map or directory arrives with sensible fields, filters, pin styles, and settings for that kind of project already in place — a trick-or-treat trail, a restaurant week, a store locator. Everything it sets up is yours to change afterward.
Where to Find Them
On the Maps and Directories pages, a row of Start from a template pills sits above your list. Click one and the create form opens pre-filled. (From scratch is there too.)
On the create form itself, the Start from a template strip shows what's in season first — those wear an In season tag — with All to see the rest.

What a Template Sets Up
Pick one and a card appears — "What Restaurant Week sets up" — listing exactly what you'll get: the fields every place gets, how pins are colored, which filters visitors see, and viewer settings like a directions button or a welcome pop-up. Click Edit details to change any of it before you create. The We'll set up summary at the bottom of the form repeats it in plain words.
Templates don't bring places with them — you still say where the places come from (a new list, your listings, or a collection you already have) and add them next. A few templates suggest kinds of places to look for, and Find Places Nearby offers those as one-click searches.

The Directory Templates
Store Locator, Member Directory, Business Directory, Dining Directory, Shop Local Directory, Event Venues, and Vendor Directory.
Good to Know
Nothing a template does is locked. Rename fields, delete filters, change pin colors — it's a normal map or directory the moment it's created.
The seasonal ordering just moves things up the strip; every template is available all year.
A template link (for example from a Proxi email or blog post) opens the create form with that template already picked, even if you have to sign in first.
