Nominations let your community put forward places you didn't include, and give a heart to the ones they'd like to see on the ballot. You decide which actually make it; nothing appears on its own. It's the "Round 1" of a Best Of, and it works for a guide too, when you want people to suggest their favorite spots.
Turning It On
In the editor's Voting tab, open Nominations and switch on Turn Nominations On. (It's also a row called Nominate under Settings → Features & Tabs.) Participants get a Nominate tab, and here's how it goes:
Someone adds a place on the Nominate tab.
Other people heart the ones they'd like to see.
You add the ones you want, and they join the ballot.
When Nominations Close
By default they stay open the whole time, voting included. To lock the ballot partway through, switch on Close Nominations On A Date and set Nominations Close. After that, no new nominations or hearts; voting carries on, and everything already nominated stays on the list. A common setup: nominations open for two weeks, then voting on the finalists.
Reviewing What Comes In
Nominations wait for you in the same section under Nominations Waiting On You. Approve one and the place joins your list; turn it down and the person who nominated it hears back. The Activity page also shows a Nominations tile with how many are waiting.
What Participants See
The Nominate tab shows Nominees so far with a heart count on each, and a form to add one. Their own suggestions show a status: Waiting for review, On the ballot 🎉, or Not this time. A line under the list says the organizer looks over every suggestion before it appears.
Good to Know
A nominated place is a real place in your collection once you approve it, so it can appear on your map or directory too.
