Everything about your portal lives in one place: Settings → Portal, in the left-hand list on the Settings page. (If you're used to finding portal options under Listings — they've moved. The old spot has a button that brings you here.)
Access: Who Can Sign In, and What They See
Portal. The main switch, with three choices: On — open (anyone you work with can sign in with their email), On — invite only (contacts need an invitation first), and Off (the portal is closed, and the emails we send stop including portal links).
Your portal link. Right below the switch, with Copy — this is the link to share in newsletters or on your site.
What people see. Five switches — Business listings, Submissions, Sign-ups, Memberships, and Receipts — turn whole sections of the portal on or off for everyone. A section that's on still only appears for someone when they have something in it.
Contributions: What People Can Add and Change
Each collection with a submission form gets its own row, showing the maps, directories, and challenges it feeds, with three switches:
Allow submissions — people can add a new place from the portal. Flip Allow submissions to all at the top to open every collection at once.
Edit while in review — the person who sent a submission can fix typos or update details while it's still waiting on you.
Edit live places — owners can update their place after it's published. On collections that review first, the change comes back to your review queue instead of publishing straight away.
Calendars work the same way, with Allow event submissions, Edit while in review, and Edit approved events per calendar.
Good to Know
Closing a collection's form pauses everything for it at once — no separate lock needed.
Every switch is enforced when someone tries to save, not just hidden on the page — flipping one off takes effect immediately, even for someone who already has the portal open.
Turning the portal Off also removes the portal buttons from confirmation, approval, welcome, and receipt emails until you turn it back on.
