Sponsorships & Memberships is where you sell things to the businesses on your listings and collect the money in one place: event sponsorships, yearly membership dues, booth fees for a market. A business picks a level, pays on a secure checkout, and everything downstream — the tag on their listing, the row on your dashboard, the card in their portal — fills in by itself.
The Three Kinds of Package
Everything you sell is a package, and every package has a type. The type only changes the words a business sees ("Become a Sponsor", "Become a Member", "Sign Up as a Vendor"); the money side works the same for all three, and each level sets its own price and how often it's billed.
Sponsorship — support for an event, campaign, or your district. "Riverfront Summer Festival Sponsors" with Presenting, Stage and Community levels.
Membership — dues from businesses that join your organization. "Downtown Business Membership" with a few levels, usually billed yearly.
Vendor Fees — booth or table fees for markets and events. "Saturday Market 2027" with one level per market date, so a vendor can book the Saturdays they'll be there.
Packages and Levels
A package holds levels. A level is what a business actually buys: a name, a price, how it's billed (one-time, monthly or yearly), the benefits that come with it, and — for markets and sessions — an optional date. A business normally holds one level per package, unless the package is set so Businesses can pick more than one level, which is how a vendor books several market dates in one checkout.
Where It Lives
The overview. In the sidebar under Earn, Sponsorships & Memberships opens a page with four totals — Joined This Year, Active, Awaiting Checkout and Payment Due (click any of them to see who's in it) — then Needs You, the short list of things waiting on you with the fix right there, and then your Packages, one row each with its numbers.
A page for each package. Click a package to open it. Its tabs are the people in it (called Sponsors, Members or Vendors to match the type), Levels, Sign-Up Page and Settings.
All Sponsors & Members. Every business across every package, in one list — linked from the top of your Packages list.
A listing's page. Its own Sponsorships & Memberships section shows what that business holds and has buttons to invite it.
The sign-up page. Every listing has one, and it's the link you send. It shows your packages in the business's own words and takes them to checkout.
The business portal. A business signs in and sees its sponsorships and memberships on its listing's page, with the renewal date.
Starting a Package
Click + Add → New Package. Instead of a blank form you get What do you want to offer?, with two tabs: Ideas for You, built from what your workspace already runs (a busy map, a full events calendar, a big email list, a passport with plenty of stops), and Templates, ready-made packages like Business Membership, Festival Sponsors and Farmers Market Vendors. Pick one, look over its levels and starter prices, and it becomes a draft you can change before anyone sees it. See Set Up a Package and Its Levels.
What Happens When a Business Pays
Its listing gets a tag named after the package and level — "Downtown Business Membership: Anchor" — that you can filter by anywhere tags work, and that directories can show as a sponsor badge.
Its row turns Active, with the benefits you promised listed and ready to mark off as you deliver them.
Recurring levels renew on their own; if a payment fails the row reads Payment Due until it clears, and it shows up in Needs You.
The business's contact can be messaged as part of that package — see Track Sponsors, Members and the Benefits You Owe Them.
Suggestions Around Proxi
Once your workspace has enough going on, Proxi points out a package where it fits, always backed by a real number of yours:
Home — for workspaces that don't sell anything yet, one idea a week ("Downtown Map was opened 4,200 times this month") with Try It.
A map's Activity page — once that map is opened 200 or more times in a month.
Calendar — once you're running 20 or more of your own events in the next three months. Events submitted by businesses or added from Suggested Events don't count.
A passport or scavenger hunt — a Sponsorships item in its Places setup, where stops can pay to be featured.
Each suggestion has an × to hide it (with Undo right after). Hiding is remembered on that computer, and Home stops suggesting after you've hidden three. Without the upgraded plan, the same suggestion shows See Plans instead.
Sponsorships & Memberships vs. Programs
These are different things and both use the word "member", so here's the line. Programs are for people: a resident joins a program (free, with an email, or paid) to unlock maps and deals. Sponsorships & Memberships are for businesses: a listing pays you, and what it gets is a tag, a badge, benefits you deliver, and a place on your dashboard. If your downtown association collects dues from its member businesses, that's a Membership package here. If it runs a loyalty club for shoppers, that's a Program.
Good to Know
You need a connected payment account before a package can take payments — see Set Up Payments: Connect Stripe and Get Paid Through Proxi. Recording a check or cash payment works without it.
Sponsorships & Memberships is part of the upgraded plan. Existing packages stay visible if a workspace changes plan.
A package starts as a draft. Nothing is offered to businesses until you publish it.
