Paywalls:

Step-by-step guide to creating a paywall for your map (sell your Proxi Map)

Unlock the power of monetization by implementing paywalls on your interactive maps. With this feature, map creators can capitalize on their knowledge and insights about places. By setting a price for their maps and enabling the paywall, creators can share their valuable content and offer a preview of selected points, enticing users to make a purchase for full access.

  1. Login using www.proxi.co and select the map you would like to put behind a paywall.

  2. Navigate to 'Paywalls + Passwords' and select 'Paywalls' to begin editing. To turn on your paywall, adjust the toggle from 'Paywall Off' to 'Paywall On'.

  3. Select Points Available for Preview

    1. If desired, you can select points that will be available for preview to users who have not gained access to your map. This helps them learn what the content on the map may look like.

Click, 'Select Points Available For Preview' and check the boxes next to the points you would like to preview for potential buyers.

      Then click 'Save'.

  4. Set Pricing Details

Click the 'Edit' button on the payment gate you would like to edit.

    2. You can now edit the paywall name and price you would like to sell the map for. Once you have made your edits, click 'Save Pricing Changes'.

Your take-home amount per map will be shown under the pricing. If you are using Proxi Starter, 65% of the revenue from map sales will be distributed to the map creator. If you are using Proxi Pro or Proxi Teams, 85% of the revenue from map sales will be distributed to the map creator

  5. Manage Multiple Payment Gates

    4. Map viewers will be prompted for their name (optional) and email address.

    5. Then map viewers will be asked to provide payment information.

    6. Map viewers will then make payment.

    7. And be thanked for their purchase.

    8. They will need to confirm their purchase with their code

    9. The map viewer will now have the full map experience.

Important Note: Before monthly payouts begin, a minimum revenue of $50 must be generated from sales of your map. Payouts will be distributed on or around the 1st of every month once the sales reach the $50 threshold. A member of the Proxi team will contact you to confirm your payment details.
