This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co.
You'll go from nothing to a shareable join page in about ten minutes. The tabs across the top of the program editor mirror the steps below — work left to right and you won't miss anything. Nothing goes live until you publish, so feel free to poke around.
Before You Start
An Open program works on any plan. Locking content behind Email Required, Password, or Paid Membership is a Premium feature.
Charging for a membership needs a connected payout account first. If you haven't set that up, do it once in Settings → Payments — see Set Up Payments: Connect Stripe and Get Paid Through Proxi — then come back.
It helps to have at least one map, directory, or event group already built, since that's what you'll put inside. You can also add those later.
1. Create the Program
Click Programs in the sidebar, then New Program. Give it a name people will recognize on a poster — "Riverbend Sips 2026" beats "2026 promo bundle." The web address fills in automatically from the name; you can tweak it now, but changing it after you've shared it will break links and QR codes that are already out in the world, so lock it in early.
2. Make the Join Page Look Like Yours
On the Setup tab, write the Description — this is your pitch, so say what someone gets and why it's worth it (headings, bold, and links all work). Add a Logo and a Cover Photo; images save the moment you pick them. A strong, real cover photo does a lot of the selling for you. If you have brand colors set on your workspace, the join button and accents pick them up automatically.
3. Choose Who Can Join
On the Who Can Join tab, pick one gate for the whole program:
Open — nothing's locked; use it to gather content on one page. You can still show a join button just to collect emails.
Email Required — visitors trade their email for access. First-timers confirm with a one-time code we email them.
Password — type the shared password right here. Good for printed passports or in-person events. Visitors enter that password plus their email.
Paid Membership — set the price and choose one-time or a recurring subscription. Decide whether buyers cover the small processing fee or you absorb it (that switch lives in Settings → Payments and applies to all your paid items).
Remember: whatever you pick, joining once unlocks every members-only item inside — people never hit the gate twice.
4. Add What's Included
On the What's Included tab, click Add Content and pick maps, directories, or event groups you've built. Set each one to Free (a teaser, or something useful to everyone like a parking map) or Members (hidden until they join). You can also add Link, Info, and Member Benefit cards — perfect for a members-only coupon code or a "how to claim your discount" note, which stay hidden until someone's in. Drag everything into the order you want it to appear on the join page.
5. Ask Registration Questions (Optional)
On the Registration tab, click Set Up Registration Questions. Add anything you'd like to know — a name, a business, a favorite drink. Mark the question that's the person's name or email so that answer files onto their contact card instead of getting buried. Keep it short; every extra field is one more reason someone bails before joining.
6. Publish and Share It
Your program starts as a private draft only your team can see. When it looks right, publish it. Then the join page link is the one thing you share everywhere — posters, QR codes, newsletters, link-in-bio. On the Members tab, turn on Show Member Count Publicly if a bit of social proof ("142 members") helps. Your members audience is waiting under Audiences whenever you want to send them something.
Check That It Worked
Open the join page in a private browser window (so you're not seen as the owner, who can see everything). You should see your cover photo, description, and the "What's Inside" list with locks on the members items. Then run through a real join with a test email:
Enter the email — for an email or paid gate, you'll get a one-time code; type it in.
The locked items should open right on the page, and a "You're in" email should arrive.
Check your contacts and the program's audience — your test person should be there.
For a recurring membership, confirm you can find the "Manage Membership" option to cancel.
If Something's Off
The Paid option is greyed out or checkout won't start. Your payout account isn't connected or finished onboarding yet — head to Settings → Payments.
A members item still shows to everyone. Double-check it's set to Members, not Free, on the What's Included tab.
You see everything unlocked but a visitor says they can't. That's expected — as the owner you bypass the gate. Test in a private window with a different email.
Nobody can find it. Make sure the program is published, not still a draft.
