Stroke color
Stroke opacity
Stroke width
Apply consistent styling when creating multiple shapes.
4. Add a line for routes or boundaries 0:46
Select Line from the shape options.
Click on the map to define the line path.
Use lines to highlight routes, race paths, or other directional boundaries.
Adjust the line placement until it matches the intended route.
5. Use polygons for area-based mapping 1:00
Use polygons to outline larger areas such as:
Districts
Main streets
School districts
Other defined zones
Click points around the area to create the boundary.
Refine the shape so it accurately represents the intended region.
6. Create a circle to show distance from a center point 1:07
Select Circle from the shape options.
Identify the center point on the map.
Set the circle radius to represent the desired distance.
Use the circle to show locations within a specific range, such as one mile from a center point.
Confirm the radius and diameter display correctly while adjusting.
7. Build a rectangle for measured areas 1:24
Select Rectangle from the shape options.
Draw the rectangle on the map and adjust its size.
Use rectangles for layouts such as:
Booth areas
Lot sizes
Other rectangular spaces
Resize until the shape matches the intended dimensions.
8. Import or customize shapes as needed 1:40
Import a shape if it already exists outside Proxy.
Click any created shape to edit its appearance.
Modify the following properties individually for each shape if needed:
Fill color
Fill opacity

Stroke width
Use unique styling to distinguish different map elements.
9. Duplicate shapes for repeated map elements 1:58
Select an existing shape that needs to be repeated.
Click Duplicate to create a copy.
Move the duplicated shape into the correct position.
Repeat duplication for repeated items such as:
Booths
Lots
Similar map sections
Verify each duplicate is placed accurately.
10. Add and edit an image overlay 2:08
Select Add Image Overlay to place an image on the map.
Use image overlays like stickers, logos, or decorative graphics.
Rotate the overlay as needed.
Adjust opacity to make the overlay more or less visible.
Position the image so it enhances the map without blocking important details.
Cautionary Notes
Ensure shapes are placed accurately before finalizing styling or duplication.
Avoid using overly opaque fills or overlays that may obscure map details.
Confirm that imported shapes match the map scale and intended boundaries.
When duplicating shapes, verify each copy is moved to the correct location.
Delete any unwanted shapes or overlays to keep the map clean and readable.
Tips for Efficiency
Set default shape styling first if you plan to create multiple shapes with the same look.
Use duplication for repeated elements instead of recreating each shape manually.
Use polygons for irregular boundaries and rectangles/circles for standardized layouts.
Keep overlays subtle by lowering opacity when they are decorative rather than informational.
Review the map after each addition to catch placement or styling issues early.
