Key Steps
1. Open the Map Style Settings 0:22
Open your proxy map.
Navigate to Map Style.
Click View.
Select a map background from the available display options.
If the desired background is not available, request a custom option from the team.
2. Enable 3D Globe View if Desired 0:43
Locate the option to convert the map into a 3D globe.
Turn the setting on if you want the map to display as a globe when users zoom out.
Confirm the globe view works as expected by zooming out and checking the visual effect.
Use this option when you want to create a more interactive and exploratory map experience.
3. Set the Default Map View 0:56
Configure the map’s default view.
Set a rotation if you want the map to open facing a specific direction.
Set a tilt if you want the map to open at an angled perspective.
Review the default view to make sure it highlights the intended area clearly.
4. Decide Whether the Point List Opens Automatically 1:03
Find the setting for auto open point list upon map open.
Turn this setting on if you want the list of points to appear automatically when the map loads.
Use this option when users should immediately see the available locations or points of interest.
Verify that the point list appears on the left-hand side when the map opens.
5. Enable Zoom on Scroll for Embedded Maps 1:19
Check whether the map will be embedded on a website or other page.
If embedded, turn on zoom on scroll when embedded.
Test the behavior by hovering over the map and scrolling to confirm users can zoom in and out naturally.
If this setting is off, users must use the plus and minus zoom buttons in the bottom-right corner instead.
Cautionary Notes
Do not enable settings without testing them first in the final map view.
Zoom on scroll should only be enabled for embedded maps if that interaction is desired.
3D globe view may change how the map looks when zoomed out, so confirm it still supports your intended use case.
If a preferred map background is not available, request assistance rather than forcing an unsuitable style.
Tips for Efficiency
Decide on the map’s intended user experience before changing settings.
Test each setting immediately after enabling it to avoid rework.
Use the default view to direct attention to the most important area of the map.
Enable the point list automatically when users need quick access to all locations.
For embedded maps, turn on scroll-to-zoom to make the experience feel more natural for users.
