This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co.
Now and then a visitor will ask to be removed from your list, to see what you hold about them, or to have their passport entry deleted. Here's how to handle it, and what Proxi does on our side.
Who Answers
If they signed up, voted, or submitted through something you built, the request is yours to answer. You collected the information; Proxi holds it for you. If a request reaches us instead of you, we'll pass it along and help you respond. You don't need to involve us at all for the common cases below.
The Common Cases
"Stop emailing or texting me." Every message you send through Proxi carries an unsubscribe link or a stop keyword, and those are honored automatically, even if the person is re-imported later. Nothing for you to do.
"Remove me from your contacts." Open Contacts, find the person, and delete them.
"Delete my listing." Delete it from your Listings page, or from the directory it appears in.
"Delete my passport / check-ins / votes." There isn't a one-click button for this yet. Email [email protected] with the experience name and the person's email address, and we'll remove their record.
"Send me everything you have on me." Gather what you can see in the app (their contact record, submissions, listing). If you need the rest, email [email protected] with their email address and we'll pull it together for you.
Timing
Most privacy laws give you about a month to respond, and some allow more. When you need Proxi's help, say so early so the deadline isn't ours to miss.
Requests About Your Own Account
If you want your Proxi account data, or want it deleted, use the request form linked from the footer of proxi.co (under "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information") or email [email protected]. Closing a workspace deletes its data on the schedule in our Terms of Service.
Good to Know
Children: if a parent tells you a child under 13 signed up without them, delete the record and let us know so we can check for anything on our side.
A request doesn't have to use legal words. "Take me off this" counts.
You never have to confirm someone's identity to unsubscribe them, but for "send me everything," make sure the request comes from the email address on the record.
