Adding Proxi to a City or Town Website

Written by Melinda Haughey

This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co.

Many municipal sites run on CivicPlus (CivicEngage). Its Custom HTML widget takes the Proxi embed code as-is, and it's also happy with a plain iframe.

Steps on CivicPlus

  1. In Proxi, copy the embed code (see Adding Proxi to Your Website: Which Code to Use).

  2. Open the page in Live Edit, go to the Widgets tab, and drag a Custom HTML widget onto the page.

  3. Paste the code, click Done, then Save. Accept the confirmation that you're adding custom code.

Good to Know

  • Try it on a copy of the page first. CivicPlus publishes on Save, and their own guidance is to test custom code on a duplicate page before touching a live one.

  • Some cities route all code changes through a web team. If you don't see Live Edit, send the embed code to whoever manages the site along with this article.

  • If your site runs on a different municipal CMS, look for a widget called HTML, Custom HTML, Embed, or Source. If none exists, the plain iframe or a link to your map always works.
