Adding Proxi to a WordPress Site

Written by Melinda Haughey

This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co.

WordPress takes the Proxi embed code as-is. Where you paste it depends on how your site is built.

Block Editor

  1. In Proxi, copy the embed code (see Adding Proxi to Your Website: Which Code to Use).

  2. Edit the page, click +, and add a Custom HTML block.

  3. Paste the code and update the page.

The block's Preview tab gives you a rough idea; the published page is the real test.

Page Builders

  • Elementor — drag in an HTML widget and paste.

  • Divi — add a Code module and paste.

  • Classic editor — switch to the Text tab (not Visual) before pasting.

Good to Know

  • You need an Administrator or Editor account. WordPress strips code pasted by Author or Contributor accounts. On a multi-site network, ask the network administrator.

  • Security plugins can strip it too. If the code vanishes after saving, a security or SEO plugin is likely filtering it. Try pasting as an Administrator, or temporarily switch the plugin off to confirm.

  • WordPress.com is different. On the Free, Personal, and Premium plans, WordPress.com removes scripts and iframes when you publish — even though they show in the editor. You'll need the Business plan or above, or use a link to your map instead.

  • Some code-block plugins preview in a locked-down frame and show a message about "cookie" or "sandboxed". Publish the page and check the live version; it's usually fine there.
