Adding Proxi to a Wix Site

Written by Melinda Haughey

This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co.

On Wix, use the Embed a Site element with your Proxi link rather than pasting the embed code. Wix runs pasted code inside a locked-down frame, which stops Proxi from loading.

Steps

  1. In Proxi, copy the link from the Link tab of the Share dialog. For an experience sign-up form, add /register to the end of the experience link.

  2. In the Wix editor, click Add Elements (the +), choose Embed & Social, then Embed a Site.

  3. Click Enter Website Address, paste your Proxi link, and apply.

  4. Drag the element to the size you want. Give a map at least 600 pixels of height, and stretch it to full width so it looks good on phones.

  5. Publish, then open the live page to check.

Good to Know

  • Why not "Embed a Widget"? That element places your code in a frame that can't remember anything between visits, so Proxi shows an error about "cookie" or "sandboxed". Embed a Site shows the page directly and works normally.

  • If Embed a Site shows the same message on the published page, add a Wix Button that links to your Proxi link instead. Visitors tap through to the full map, which works well on phones.

  • Wix Studio has the same two choices under Embed; pick the one that takes a web address.

  • Check the mobile editor too; Wix sizes embeds separately for phones.
