Find Places Nearby fills a map, directory, or your listings with real businesses of a kind — every coffee shop, every mural, every park near your town — in a couple of clicks. Tick the ones you want and each becomes a listing and a place, with its name and address already right.
Where to Find It
It's one of the shortcuts at the bottom of the Add Places dialog (and the Add Listings dialog on the Listings page), and it's shown right on the page while a list is still empty. You'll find it in the map editor, the directory editor, on a collection page, and on the Listings page.
Running a Search
Set Search Near (a town, address, or landmark — it starts on your map's location) and a Within distance.
Type a kind of place — "coffee shops," "kid-friendly restaurants," "murals" — or click one of the Try chips. If your map came from a template, the chips are the kinds of places that template suggests.
Click Find. Real places appear with their addresses; anything you already have says already here.
Tick the ones you want (Select all and Clear all are there for long lists). Run another search and keep ticking — your picks add up.
Click the add button to bring them all in.
Tagging Each Place With Its Kind
Above the results there's a row — Tag each place with its kind in… — with three choices: an existing choice field, A new multi-select field (named Type unless you change it), or Don't tag them. Leave it on and kinds like "Coffee Shop" or "Bar" become options you can filter by and drive the pins with, without any bulk editing afterward. See Setting Up Categories, Fields, and Labels.
Good to Know
Every place added here is a listing too, so it counts toward your plan's listing limit. If you're at the limit, the dialog says so before you search; if you tick more than there's room for, it tells you how many to untick.
Each search uses one place lookup from your workspace's monthly allowance, which is set by your subscription level. If you run out, a Message Us button opens the chat and we'll sort it out. See Your Monthly Message Limits and the Usage Meter.
