Publishing, Sharing, and Embedding Your Directory

Written by Melinda Haughey

This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co.

A new directory is a Draft — private to you while you set it up. When it's ready, publish it, then share the link or drop it onto your website.

Publish It

In the editor, click Publish at the top right. Once it's live, you'll see:

  • View live — opens your public directory in a new tab.

• Share — opens the sharing options (below).

Publishing and sharing are available on a paid plan; if your plan doesn't include it yet, the button shows a lock and points you to upgrade.

Share the Link

Click Share and you'll get:

  • Your directory's public link — with a Copy button — at app.proxi.co/d/…

  • A QR code to open it on another device — great for print and signage.

  • Quick shortcuts to share on social or by email.

Embed It on Your Website

In the same Share panel, under Embed on a website, click Copy code and paste the snippet into your site where the directory should appear:

<script src="…/embed/d/<your-directory-id>.js" defer></script>
<proxi-directory data-id="<your-directory-id>"></proxi-directory>

It sizes itself to your page automatically and works on Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, WordPress — anywhere you can paste a bit of HTML. The embed always matches your live directory, so any edit you make shows up there too.

Set the Link Preview

The Sharing section (under Access) is where you set how your directory looks when the link is shared in a text, a social post, or search — its preview title, description, and image, plus the details used when someone adds it to their phone's home screen.

Taking It Down

You can Archive a directory to take it offline while keeping it, or Delete it entirely. Deleting is permanent — any embeds or shared links stop working — but your collections and listings are never affected. If you might want it back later, archive instead.
