Understanding Your Map's Analytics

Written by Melinda Haughey

This article is about the Proxi admin app at app.proxi.co.

To see how a map is doing, go to the Maps page and click Analytics on the map's card (detailed analytics are a Pro feature). Use the range buttons — 7d, 14d, 30d, 90d, All — to zoom in on any period. There are three tabs:

Overview

The big picture: Map Engagements (someone actively interacted — clicking, scrolling, exploring), Point Views, More Info Clicks, Custom Button Clicks, Email Captures, Bookmarks, Unique Viewers, average daily and monthly users, and session length. Below that: activity over time, a device breakdown, where your viewers are located, and which categories and filters get clicked most.

Points

How each place performs: views, More Info clicks, directions requests, shares, and check-in clicks per place, plus a column for every custom button you've set up. Search or filter by category, click a place to see its interactions over time, and use Download to export the table as a CSV — a favorite for sponsor reports ("your booth got 340 views").

Seeing Every Place's Upvotes in One List

If the Upvotes action is on for the map, the Points tab also has an Upvotes column with each place's all-time total — click the column heading to sort by it, and it's included in the CSV.

Upvotes Are Not the Same as Voting in an Experience

Three different things can look like "votes," and each one reports in its own place:

  • Upvotes on a map — the heart button on a place's card. Anyone looking at the map can tap it, one tap per phone, no sign-up. Totals: this page, Points tab, Upvotes column.

  • A Best Of ballot — a real contest with categories, one ballot per person, winners announced. That's an experience, not a map setting. Results: open the Best Of, then Participants & Activity → People → Vote results, with Export CSV. See Best Of: Setting Up the Ballot and Voting.

  • Scores after a check-in — a quick rating or question asked right after someone checks in at a stop in a Passport, Hunt, or Guide. Only people who were actually there can answer. Results: open the experience, then Participants & Activity → Activity (on each place) and in the download. See Asking People Something After They Check In.

About the "Views" Number Under the Map Title

The short summary under the map's name ("68 points · 848 views") and the view count on the Maps page come from a tally we refresh about every 12 hours, while the Overview and Points tabs read live activity. So a new map can say No views yet for most of a day even though the chart below already shows visitors — nothing is lost, the summary just hasn't caught up. Trust the tabs for today's numbers.

Leads

The people your map captured: Email Captures (with a chart over time), Gated Access events (who entered a password or paid, including amounts), and — for maps tied to an experience — Registrants. Every table has a Download CSV button so you can pull the list into your email tool.

The Whole Workspace at a Glance

For the cross-map view, open Insights in the left sidebar (available on paid plans): total views, top maps, top listings, and the most-clicked buttons across everything you've built. View counts there refresh about every 12 hours; button clicks show up within minutes.
