Your events can be shown four different ways, and they're all the same events underneath — nobody has to re-enter anything. The one people are usually looking for is Poster: instead of a list of dates, visitors see a wall of your event artwork at full size. If your businesses put real work into their posters, this is where that work finally gets seen.
The Four Views
List — everything coming up, in date order, grouped by day. The friendliest default and the one most people want on a website.
Month — the month grid people already know. Good when visitors are planning ahead rather than looking for "this weekend."
Map — every event that has a location, shown as a pin. Handy for a festival weekend when the question is "where do I go," not "when is it."
Poster — a grid of event artwork. Each event gets a tall tile with its date above and its name below, and clicking one opens the event.
The Same View Has Different Names in Different Places
This trips people up, so it's worth saying plainly. The month grid is called three different things depending on where you're standing:
On your Events page (where you do the work) the tabs are Calendar, Agenda, Map, Venues, List and Submissions. These are your working views — they're for managing events, and they're not what visitors see.
On your public calendar page visitors get List, Calendar and Map.
In a website embed the tabs are List, Month, Map and Poster.
So "Calendar" on your public page and "Month" in an embed are the same month grid. And Poster is only available in a website embed — your public calendar page doesn't have a Poster tab.
How Poster View Works
Poster view uses each event's Cover image — the picture you add when you create or edit an event. A few things worth knowing:
Your artwork is never cropped. Whatever shape you upload, the whole image shows. A tall poster fills the tile; a wide landscape image sits in the middle with soft blurred edges filling the rest. You don't have to resize anything.
Events without a picture still look right. An event with no cover image gets a clean title card in your brand color instead of a blank space, so the wall stays even.
Tiles are clickable. Visitors tap a poster to open that event's details, the same as tapping a row in List view.
On a phone it becomes one column, whatever column count you chose.
To add or change the artwork, open an event and use the Cover image field. It accepts an upload from your computer or a pasted image link.
One Thing the Map View Does Differently
When a visitor switches to Map inside a website embed, the search box and the group and venue filters are hidden. The map keeps whichever groups and venues you set the embed to, but visitors can't narrow it further while they're on that tab — they can switch back to List or Month to filter, then return.
Good to Know
All four views show the same events. Publishing an event once puts it in every view you've turned on.
Only events with a location appear in Map view. If an event is missing from the map, it's usually missing a venue or address.
List view shows 20 events before a Load more button, and Poster view shows two rows. Both are adjustable per embed — see Share Your Calendar: Links, Website Embeds and Subscriptions.
There's no preview of Poster view inside the admin app yet. The way to see it is to build the embed and paste it on a page.
