Revenue in Passport Events benefits the user because it turns their event into a self-funding or even profit-generating activation. By charging for participation or inviting donations, organizers can:

  • Offset event costs — cover expenses like marketing, prizes, and staffing.

  • Fund future programs — reinvest earnings into additional events or community initiatives.

  • Increase perceived value — when people pay to join, they’re often more committed and engaged.

  • Support local causes — donations can go directly to nonprofits or community projects, building goodwill.

  • Create a new income stream — especially for organizations running recurring events.

In short, it’s not just about running a fun community challenge — it’s about making the experience sustainable and impactful without relying solely on outside funding.

  1. Navigate to your map and then to the Passport Event Map.

  2. Click Registration & Sharing.

  3. Scroll to Payment Options at the bottom.

To require payment for registration:
4. Check Require Payment for Registration and input a price.
5. Now the end user will need to make payment before accessing the passport event.

To solicit a donation at registration:
6. Click Solicit Donation.
7. Provide 3 suggested donation amounts.
8. Now the end user will be able to make a donation before accessing the passport event.
